Discover the vibrant flavours of India’s food culture at Chaat, as it unveils a fresh menu crafted by newly appointed chef de cuisine Gaurav Kuthari. Kuthari’s new dishes introduce a blend of tradition and innovation. Dive into street food classics like the palak patte ke chaat, featuring crispy spinach leaves and tangy chutneys, or go for a taste of Kerala and savour the pork pepper fry, showcasing the versatility of pork with aromatic spices. Other highlights include the Badami murg tikka, or almond chicken tikka; tandoori basil nimbu prawn which fuses coastal flavours with tandoori grilling; and Northern Indian delicacies such as the fragrant lamb rogan josh and the Parsi-style smoked patrani fish. Meanwhile, the burrata corn palak offers a cross-cultural delight, blending Italian burrata with Indian influences.

In the mood for cocktails

For an evening of sophistication and creative cocktails, head to Qura Bar on April 16, where spirits educator and consultant Eddie Nara will guide guests through an immersive whisky and scotch masterclass from 4pm to 6pm, followed by his guest shift behind the bar, where he’ll be shaking up his own concoctions from 8pm to 11pm.

Experience a celebration of French cuisine as two Hong Kong restaurants: one Michelin-starred Louise and Racines, recently awarded for their first Michelin star in the 2024 guide, unite for a six-hands dinner on April 17 at Louise. Executive chef Franckelie Laloum from Louise and Racines’ co-founders and executive chefs Romain Dupeyre and Adrien Castillo have come together to craft an imaginative multi-course tasting menu, showcasing their culinary prowess and friendship.

Both restaurants offer distinctive interpretations of French cuisine: Louise, inspired by familial love and nostalgia, bridges fine dining with traditional French flavours, while Racines, drawing from childhood memories in southern France, elevates classic dishes with innovative techniques. The dinner is priced at HK$1,888 per person for a five-course menu with an optional wine pairing for HK$988.

Duddell’s introduces two new dining experiences this April: Movie Nights and Night Brunch, combining their signature Cantonese cuisine with entertainment. Movie Nights, held on April 10, with the first movie showing Mamma Mia, May 22, and June 19, invites guests to enjoy timeless classics in the cosy ambience of the fourth-floor salon. Priced at HK$348 per person, the package includes two drinks and three food items, including items like crispy bean curd with spiced salt and diced crispy chicken with chilli.

The restaurant is also launching its first-ever Night Brunch on April 20 and May 25. After tucking the kids in, adults can indulge in all-you-can-eat dim sum, priced at HK$638 per person, served to the table, featuring the likes of shrimp dumplings and Peking duck. Optional beverage packages are also available, including Veuve Clicquot champagne free-flow for HK$998 and a Krug prestige package free-flow for HK$2,488, promising a night of indulgence in the refined atmosphere of the salon and alfresco garden terrace.

Experience the charm of a traditional Japanese izakaya at Uoharu’s two locations in the city as they debut an all-new menu this spring and summer. The new dishes include the grilled foie gras with pineapple on toast and the decadent sea urchin and Wagyu kamameshi at their Pacific Place, Admiralty location. Meanwhile, diners should not miss bite-sized wonders at the M88 branch on Wellington Street, including the Japanese egg roll with mentaiko and deep-fried chicken cheese roll.

Above Brut’s new, seasonal menu

This season, Brut introduces a new menu inspired by head chef CJ Jalandoni’s unique culinary background. Highlights from the menu include the salt and vinegar mackerel with cucumber and buttermilk, a Filipino-inspired dish featuring poached mackerel with a vibrant calamansi marinade, and the prawn toast with ginger jam and curry mayo. Larger plates like the seared salmon with corn flan and charred jalapeños celebrate the flavours of spring, while the hojicha barley risotto with water bamboo shoots and morels offers an earthy complexity. There’s also the roasted lamb rack with carrot mash and tamarind chutney, available exclusively on the tasting menu, showcasing Jalandoni’s knowledge of Asian flavours.

Guests can opt for the sharing-style à la carte menu or a six-course tasting menu at HK$550 per person with wine pairings curated by founder Camille Glass (HK$380/HK$580), featuring boutique wines from around the world. Alternatively, a new ‘No Abv’ pairing for an alcohol-free dining experience is also available.
