Find out which dining places on the island made it into this year’s prestigious ranking
As we move on to a post-pandemic normal, so too is the local F&B scene, which has been enticing us to revisit old and new innovative dining concepts on the island. With the help of our expert dining reviewers, we spent the last couple of months sampling classic and modern menus and savouring different cuisines from the choicest of restaurants here in Singapore. Now, based on our most memorable epicurean experiences, we present to you the best dining establishments to wow your palates in this year’s Tatler Dining Guide.
Every year, we shine the spotlight on the industry’s crème de la crème—our Top 20 restaurants that continue to offer exceptional food, amazing ambience, a stellar wine list, and, of course, excellent service. These were nominated by our expert reviewers and a voting panel, who, for the first time, also picked the Restaurant of the Year.
We are happy to announce that this prestigious recognition goes to Jaan by Kirk Westaway. The eponymous chef’s bold menu that puts British cuisine in a completely new light, plus the restaurant’s beautifully renovated space (inspired by Westaway’s hometown in Devon, Southwest England), have given Jaan the edge over the others in the list this year.

In a city blessed with a multitude of excellent pan-European cuisine, Basque Kitchen is exceptional as it focuses on a microgenre that hails from the western Pyrenees between France and Spain. Having a diverse upbringing and a career that spanned across multiple top kitchens in the world, chef-owner Aitor Jeronimo Orive delivers a stunning repertoire of modern Basque cuisine that is a reflection of his culinary sojourn. Since the move from Amoy Street where it originally opened in 2018, the bright and elegant dining room that overlooks the Singapore River has gone upmarket. It is matched by the confident and capable service team led by one of Singapore’s top sommelier Vincent Jaureguiberry. He is always on hand to recommend esoteric wine pairings to bring the meal to a flourishing encore.
